SUGGESTED BREWING METHODS

Home Espresso Machine

Fine grind, about 8/10grams of coffee per shot, should come out 35/40mls in 20/30 second, or adjust the grind accordingly.

Macchinetta (stove top, mocha pot)

Medium to fine grind, 8/10 grams per cup, brew on medium to high heat until all coffee has risen to top chamber. This method has increased caffeine extraction compared to filter or plunger.

Plunger

Medium to coarse grind,8/10 grams per cup, after pouring boiling water over the coffee let it steep for at 3 minutes before filtering, for maximum extraction and stronger flavour  leave for up to 6 minutes.

Cold Brew Infusion (using a french press or plunger)

Medium grind (adjust as you go), 8/10 grams per cup, just pour cold water (filtered rain water is best) on the coffee, mix well then let it brew at room temperature for up to 24 hours (again adjust for best taste), then filter if possible with a fine metal sieve or cotton filter or paper filter (paper filters remove oily components which are beneficial antimicrobial and anti inflammatory compounds). This method will result in a sweeter tasting coffee with extremely low acidity, the process of leaching flavour from the grinds producing a different coffee profile. Use straight or with milk, can be heated or used cold, my favourite!!

There are  many other way to brew and prepare coffee, to many to detail, from filter coffee, drip coffee, turkish coffee to pour over and other’s, all valid way to prepare and enjoy one the best drinks ever!!

ENJOY!!!
